National Technology Standards

The National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) Project is a project led by the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), a world-wide professional organization for those in educational technology.

The goal is "to develop national standards for educational uses of technology that facilitate school improvement." There are NETS for both students and teachers. Student Profiles provide performance indicators for students' use of technology at various levels.

Look at the Student Profiles for your grade level. Do you find them helpful? Reasonable? Do your students have the resources available to them to achieve these standards? Do they seem to be aligned with the recommendations in Tech Savvy? (I know this is a huge question but I'd like for you to consider it.)
