Why We Don't Just Use HTML Editors

One of the primary reasons we teach you the HTML code to begin with is because none of the HTML editors are perfect.  They make mistakes sometimes and create "bad" code (or code that doesn't work the way you would like it to).  The Web designers who can fix the bad code are the ones who don't rely on HTML editors to do everything for them.  In other words, knowing the underlying code and how that code constructs a web page will make you more self sufficient.
