Javascript is a cross-platform scripting computer language that can be placed inside HTML documents to create fun and interesting elements. There are many sites that freely provide code for bells and whistles for your web pages. A few examples are porvided below.

How should these be used in a WebQuest lesson? Probably sparingly. They are fun and will attract your students, but they may also distract them during the serious part of the lesson. So maybe use them on an introductory page, but not in the rest of the site?

These pages were developed through TeacherTECH, the teacher professional development component of GirlTECH, which is sponsored by the Center for Excellence and Equity in Education (CEEE) and made possible by support from the National Science Foundation and Rice University.
