| Thank you for visiting my web page. It is a privilege for me to introduce myself to you. I am a native Houstonian who enjoys helping students to learn. My school is located in Midtown Houston near downtown. I am the science specialist at J. Will Jones Elementary School in the Houston Independent School District. I am responsible for coordinating the science instruction on my campus. I work with students in second grade to fifth grade as their science lab teacher. To deliver science instruction to our pre kindergarten through first grade, I team teach with their classroom teachers as we introduce them to their environment. I also present the professional development to teachers and staff at my school as we collaborate in teams to help our students achieve. To help our parents as they work with their children, I coordinate family science events, science fair, and field trips with the instructional staff to enhance the learning of our students. Although we are a fine arts magnet, we strive to enrich our students lives with science for their future success. Training

of Houston Philosophy I have been an educator in the Houston Independent School District for seventeen years. Prior to teaching, I worked in telecommunication and computer sales and marketing. I have always had a desire to help others through teaching. It is my belief that everyone's life improves through education. My instruction begins with the belief that all children can learn. Learning allows all to participate in our society. Science, math, and technology are the gateway to the future. It is my desire to instill a love and a desire for science in all students. My focus is to deliver science instruction that enables our students to become scientifically literate while achieving their future goals. This desire has allowed me to train elementary science teachers in my district and state. I have been fortunate to present workshops at NSTA (National Science Teacher Association) and CAST(Council Association of Science Teachers). It has also given me the opportunity to share a model of instruction, the Four I Model, for gifted and talented and at-risk students which I co-authored. My goal is to make available science to all students as they continue to increase their knowledge in language arts, mathematics, social studies, technology, and fine arts. As I prepare all students for the future, I am also contributing to the growth and development of our nation and world. The journey begins at the elementary level as we all help to usher the next generation into the future. Personal I
have been married since June 13, 1987. My husband and I have two wonderful
children ages 13 and 9. We all enjoy reading, traveling, and are excited
about science and robotics.
