SEARCHING FOR
YOUR SCIENTIST
There are three yellow
boxes below. Each box is a link to an Internet site which
has biographical information. You should find a t least two articles
about your scientist.
Your goal for this
lesson is to navigate to the three sites and print or save the
information. You are not expected to read the article thoroughly
nor will you take notes.
To return from the
biography site to this page, use the "Back" button on the browser.
If you are not able
to print in your classroom, get out your floppy disk. Write your
name on the disk.
Label the disk "biography
research".
Write the date.
Place your floppy disk
into the A: drive. You will save your research "pages" to a disk.

Determine the first
letter of your scientist's name.

Go the the first
index box below. Click on the appropriate letter in
the first box.

When the information
about your scientist is loaded on the screen, go to the menu
bar of your browser.

Click on file/save
as.

You will be asked
to select where you want the file saved.

Select
A: .Name your file.
-
Then click
on save.

Complete the search
with the indexes in the other two boxes.

Remove your disk
from the A drive and take care of it.

If you still have
time in this period, leave the disk in the drive and proceed
to the next lesson by clicking on the blinking light at the
bottom of the page.
