THIRD SIX WEEKS

WELCOME TO WEEK 13

Keyboarding (Micro Type Pro)
  1. In this exercise students will apply the proper keyboarding technique to input data when using the computer keyboard.   Continue with Keyboarding Skill Builder lessons M, N, and O .

  2. Emphasis will be placed on one-hand words.    Keep eyes on screen as you key at a steady pace and strive for good control.

  3. You will be timed one minute, typing sentences 6 times or more.   Tab key to indent 5 spaces, at beginning of each paragraph.   The program will automatically word wrap.

  4. One reason we learn to key is to be able to apply that skill as we format personal and business documents, letters, reports, and tables for example.

  5. Your next major goal will be to learn those basic rules that govern how we arrange, place, and space the most commonly used kinds of documents.

  6. Type the Interoffice Memorandum , use default margins and font.  Save as Memorandum 1

  7. Title the handout, The Interview , follow directions, and make all changes as indicated.     Know the symbols that indicate what to do when:
    • TO INSERT
    • TO TRANSPOSE
    • TO CAPITALIZE
    • TO INSERT A SPACE
    • TO DELETE/INSERT
    • TO DELETE AND CLOSE UP

  8. Save to "3 1/2 Floppy (A:) drive" (your diskette).    Save as Interview .

  9. Always use only one word when saving a document.    It is easier, and can be found more quickly when lost, if found at all.
