I am a native of El Salvador. I have a Master's Degree in Educational Sciences by the University of Navarre, Spain. After many years of working in a variety of Family Enrichment and Youth Leadership programs, I went back to school and did a Post Baccalaureate at the University of St. Thomas, where I received certification in Elementary Education, Bilingual/ESL. I discovered that Two-Way Immersion is an ideal model of Bilingual Education: to enable native English-speakers and native Spanish speakers to preserve and develop their own language and culture; at the same time as they learn a second language from their classmates, whose cultures they respect and value, is for me a dream come true.
