Juergen Schulz is a 1984 graduate of Port Neches - Groves High School (PN-G) and a 1988 graduate of Lamar University (LU) – Beaumont, Texas, where he received a B.S. degree in Biology. Mr. Schulz moved to the Houston area in 1991 to advance his work with the Lions Eye Bank of Texas (LEBT) within Baylor College of Medicine and to accept his first high school teaching position.

In 1995, Mr. Schulz left BCM and began work with the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) in The Woodlands, Texas. Within this institution, his primary obligation was Chemical Safety, but he was able to offer some input into the research & development of wood treatments, polymer applications chemistry, and sustainable building materials. Currently, J. Schulz is involved with a nanotechnology education/research project in association with Clarkson Aerospace, Texas Southern University, and Rice University.

    

Juergen Schulz is beginning his 16th year in secondary school education. And, this is his 3rd year at Klein Collins High School after being at Concordia Lutheran High School in Tomball for the previous six. Most of his teaching experience has been in Chemistry and Physics. While at Concordia, Mr. Schulz’s Physics program grew from 11 students in 1998 to nearly 50 students in 2001 despite the school's declining overall enrollment.

Mr. Schulz’s ongoing mission is to foster disciplined, analytical processing skills in his learners. In addition, he wants to elicit student readiness to achieve.

These eight Concordia graduates of 2002 had to put up with me
as their Science teacher for 4 straight years. I was a lucky guy.
