How's the Weather
Grade Level: 4 - 8
Objectives:
- Collect and record all aspects of the daily weather
- Collect and record cilmate data from various weather sites
- Investigate regional weather
- Use a spreadsheet to record and chart data
Materials:
Deskktop or Laptop computer
Modem with minimal 14400 Baud Rate
Internet Access with graphics interface
Procedure
- Divide the class into groups. Specify a different region of the United States for each group. Have each group of students chart and record the daily temperatures, humidity, rainfall, and pressure for their region.
- Check current satellite views of the continents-Updated every 30 minutes
- Access live climate data to chart and record
- Students will record data in a spreadsheet and chart their findings
