**Spring Band and Drumline Camp**



Incoming Students and Parent Meeting

APRIL 26, 2007: There will be an incoming band parent meeting. This meeting will be at Westside High School in the bandroom at 7 pm. The purpose of the meeting is to give parents an idea of the events, costs, and expectations of students and parents involved in the band program at Westside High School.

Summer Rehearsals and Band Camp

In order to keep students motivated over the summer and start preparing them for the Fall, we have summer music rehearsals and a band camp.

Band Camp Dates: Due to TMEA (Texas Music Education Association) andn UIL (***)regulations, the band camp dates and times are not scheduled at this time. All students and parents will be notified. It is mandatory that all students attend band camp. This is the time when the Marching Band reviews basic marching techniques and learns the UIL show and music for the upcoming school year. In order to have a place in the show you must be there.

PLEASE ORGANIZE YOUR SUMMER VACATIONS AROUND THIS.

Music BOoster Organization

The purpose of this organization is to support the directors and students by assisting with transportation, chaperones, and fundraising activities. The organization is critical to the success of the band program and it is a good way for parents to become involved in their child's school activities. Parents, we need you!!
