TLW:

Add set and line documentation to your box Scheme program

 

Objective:  Communication

Activities:

·          Add Set documentation for the original box and your new box.

·         In your new box include type of transformation:

·         Translation – include the change in X and change in Y values

·         Dilation – Include the scale factor

·          

Materials:  DrScheme Version 103p1 downloaded from www.htdp.org

Follow Up/HW:  Finish baby.scm

 

Tuesday

TLW:

Plot boxes on graph paper and determine width, length and depth.

Use the Pythagorean Theorem to determine the length of the depth.

Objective:  Planning Connections - Design Patterns & math TAKS

Activities:

Grade baby.scm

Design Boxes

=      Do sample box.

=      Design a box with same ratio increased by a factor of 2 and code

=      Design another box reflecting one of the boxes.

=      Continue adding boxes for an interesting design using same ratios, but may make the width the shorter dimension.  Look at boxes on wall for design ideas.

For each box:

  1. Plot on graph paper
  2. Type and study the code for patterns.
  3. Calculate the dimensions of width, height and depth
  4. Determine the ratio of the width to height

=      Begin QuizLab Programming Graphics

Follow Up/HW:  Finish any missing work for week 11

Analyze data using multimedia tools.

Objective: Data Analysis

Activities:

=      Analyze Progress Report Grades - Spreadsheet with Feedback (DW2)

=      Analyze chart with percent dressed during spring fling week (DW1)

=      Analyze picture of box to determine proportions (G8)

=      Analyze week 10 work report (DW3) – Did you improve for week 11 work?

=      Analyze Scheme function, looking at patterns and arguments (function data)

=      Analyze News reports for fact or opinion

o        High Speed Internet access improves student learning

o        Mrs. North’s editorial on algebra curriculum

=      KIATQ – Do you question data?
