original OBLIQUE sketch. o
Calculate the
height and width in pixels. o
Mouse over the
end points of the front rectangle to determine the coordinates o
Find the
distance between the two endpoints to determine the length ·
Determine the
Ratio – were you close to the actual ratio?

Wednesday 
TLW: Plot the oblique view of
your box on graph paper from 4 views – horizontal and vertical reflections. 
Objective: Graphic Design and Math TAKS 
Activities: ·
Plot box on
graph paper, keeping the same proportions.

Use a scale
factor of 20 x 20 pixels = one square o
Record the
coordinates of the top left corner of the rectangle. ·
Use the
Pythagorean Theorem to determine the vertical and horizontal distance to move
to create the end point of the depth lines at a 45 degree angle. o
C is the ratio
factor of the depth o
Let X = A and B
(Equal because an isosceles triangle is formed.) o
Example  2^2
= X^2 + X^2 (3/2)^2 =
2X^2 o
Solve for X. ·
Repeat the
process to reflect the box horizontally and increase the scale factor. ·

process to reflect the box vertically and decrease the scale factor.

photographs of your box in Microsoft Photo Editor. =
Crop extra
background, keeping all photographs the same size. =
Save with a
descriptive identifier.
