Objective:  Explore the World of Technology

Activities:

IN YOUR JOURNAL:

°         Chapter 1 Mastery: Outline, Read and do Test Your Knowledge (TYK).

°         Define any terms from C1, p. 21 that you do know the meaning of.

°         Summarize Chapter 1 in YOUR OWN WORDS.

Materials:  Technology Systems textbook

Follow Up/HW:  Analyze your journal data for chapter 1.

 

Tuesday

TLW:

Practice for Test on QuizLab.

Ask questions to gain knowledge.

Objective:  Explore the World of Technology

°         Analyze concepts (data from multimedia class introduction) from the first 2 weeks as they relate to Technology.

°         Practice TEST questions on QuizLab.

Materials:  QuizLab password

Follow Up/HW: STUDY FOR TEST OVER DATA ANALYSIS

 

Wednesday

TLW:

Demonstrate mastery of data analysis and class introduction by making a 100% on the Test.

Objective:  Assess knowledge of data analysis and class introduction

Activities:

:     ONLINE TESTDATA ANALYSIS AND CLASS

Materials: QuizLab password

Follow Up/HW: Organize grade data for all classes.

 

Thursday

TLW:

Research how hurricanes change the earth.

Write up feelings about Hurricane Katrina

Objective:  Connections – Technology*Humanties*Science

Activities:

°         Search Internet on hurricanes

°         Save URLS links to sites and images in Word with a description for future use on your website.  SAVEAS: Katrina.

°         Free writing on feelings and how we can help

°         Discuss the Freshman Magnet “KALM” ambassador program.

°         NEW STUDENTS – Finish Interviews for presentation tomorrow.

Materials:  Internet - Google Earth plus other sites

Follow Up/HW: 

Complete C1-ORT for grade check Friday.

Analyze Grade data – check for match with teacher’s grade like we did to check the class count for original vs. new students in each period.

 

Friday

TLW:

Create content for web pages from Auto Biography data and Hurricane Katrina writing.

Objective:  Connections – Technology*Humanities*Science

Activities:

°         Take QuizLab C1-31 Pretest to track learning change.

°         Print “Free Writing” Hurricane Katrina paper and have parent edit

°         Analyze AutoBio data:

o       Pick 3-4 interesting items and write an introductory paragraph* using sentence, “I am a WHS Technology Magnet Student.”

o       Write a paragraph* about your future.

o       Cross off the data items you have used.

*Paragraphs should be around 4-8 lines long. 

**Content should be important, interesting, unique or funny – remember you want someone to read more about you because your start was interesting.

Materials:  

Follow Up/HW: Finish Katrina and Autobiography paragraphs.

EXTRA CREDIT: Make a poster using the “Change is Constant” quote. Match the design of the class motto poster on my bulletin board that says: “Things sometimes go wrong so that we’ll be able to tell the difference when things go right”
