Reflect on 9/11 and give feedback on thoughts connecting the past, the present and the future.

Objective: P-P-F: Past – Present – Future Connections - Reflective Writing

Activities:

1.       Reflect on the flag display in the court-yard.

2.       Take photographs

3.       Free Write on 9-11 connecting Chapter 1 Concepts: T-H-S and P-P-F

4.       Submit thsvenn graphic and techtimeline graphic with grade rubric cover sheet

5.       Extra Credit – Design a graphic communicating a major concept from Chapter 1.

Follow Up/HW: STUDY FOR TEST ON CHAPTER 1 – Practice www.quizlab.com pre-test until mastered at 100% 3 times.

Discuss Technology as a response to human needs.

Objective: Resources of Technology

Activities:

1.       Read TS Chapter 2 p. 23-27

2.       List the characteristics of ALL technological systems

3.       Discuss the reasoned use of fire as the beginning of technology.

4.       Discuss the connection of TIME to fire.

5.       Find the statement on p. 25, which talks about a future that is now a past event.

6.       Discuss the Input of TIME

7.       “Howdy Duty Time” – discuss how time controls our lives.

8.       Research the tools used to count time: sun dials, water clocks, sand clocks.

9.       Research Roman time, Ante Meridian (AM) and Post Meridian (PM) time.

10.   When was mechanical time invented; what was the relationship to sound?

11.   What invention made all modern clocks?

12.   Begin planning a timeline on TIME for your graphic in Paint.

1.       Discuss the Lunar, Egyptian and Gregorian Calendars

2.       Research why there are 7 days in a week.

3.       Discuss the impact of the making of a week on man’s mastery of the world and scientific inquiry.

4.       Discuss the meaning the work TIME.

5.       Work on TIME Timeline Graphic in Paint applying concepts from MB Graphics Unit.
