WARMUP EVERY DAY THIS WEEK:

PRACTICE TYPING SPEED SET A GOAL OF INCREASING BY 2 GWAM EACH DAY!

End of Week at same rate means you will be 10 GWAM faster if you make use of class RESOURCES.

 

Monday

TLW:

Research the connection of the resource of PEOPLE and MONEY to the development of Technology through TIME.

 

Objective: Resources of Technology

Activities:

1.       Research Galileo Galilee (1564-1642) and his discovery that symbolized the new age of science.

2.       Understand how people and sea travel influenced the development of technology through the need to determine longitude on the ocean.

3.       In 1714 English offered a prize for what and who won it? This was the first and use of PUBLIC FUNDS to advance science and technology.

4.       In the 17th century clock makers were more advanced than any other INDUSTRY to produce watches for people.

5.       This resulted in the first ASSEMBLY LINE as 16 different workers were involved in the production of clocks and 21 in watches.

6.       Research the advantages of specialization and division of labor.

Tuesday

TLW:

Research the connection of the resource of TOOLS and MACHINES to the development of Technology through TIME.

 

 

Objective: Resources of Technology

Activities:

1.       What was the mother of all machines? Hint: They use gears and screws.

2.       Metal screws were first made in great number for this machine.

3.       The lathe was invented to make a graduated screw of metal for this machine as well as what other tools?

4.       This lead to the development of the sextant, micrometer, balances, barometers, microscope and telescope.

5.       Research how the invention of one tools or machines influences the development of more tools and machines.

Applications:

Follow Up/HW: Read and take notes on Multimedia Basics Graphics Unit pages GR 15 17.

 

Wed/Thurs

TLW:

Use the resource of INFORMATION to teach others about the Resources of Technology.

 

Objective: Resources of Technology and USM

Activities:

1.       Read Chapter 2 p 28-32.

2.       Draw the Universal Systems Model found on p. 26 in Paint.

3.       Draw any other graphics which enhance C2 concepts to use on your PowerPoint.

4.       Create a PowerPoint or Poem on one of the resources of technology using a theme such as clocks.

5.       Complete the TYK and Define any terms you do not know for Chapter 2.

Follow Up/HW: Read and take notes on Multimedia Basics Graphics Unit pages GR 18 20.

 

Friday

TLW:

Review Chapter 2.

Objective: Resources of Technology and USM

Activities:

1.      

  • Submit USM Graphic
  • ReTake TS Chapter 1 test as needed
  • Study for Chapter 2 test
    on QuizLab.

  • Applications:

    Follow Up/HW: Finish Reading and taking notes on the Multimedia Basics Graphics Unit.
    Study for TEST on Chapter 2 - do QuizLab practice again.

     

    GRADES FOR THE WEEK:

    50 points USM Graphic in Paint Use same size canvas as your first two graphics; print when finished.

    50 points TIME / Calendar Timeline from Associate Teacher Content

    100 points Daily Work 6w1 / 3w2 which includes increase in typing speed, Chapter 2 TYK and terms, Chapter 2 QuizLab
