EMPOWERING OUR STUDENTS FOR THE FUTURE

My goal in Ancillary Computer Lab is to empower our students for the 21st century of tomorrow through a focus on computer science and communication. By using computer tools with this goal, students will not only learn applications, but will be exposed to computer science concepts and digital communication.

Lessons are modeled after the Design Recipe from Computer Science and the USM from Technology Systems. I use the EPL (Environmental Planning for Learning) Method; that is I “go with the flow” and teach students based on their level of ability, their interests and current events.

An important role for the teacher is as a sort of human tool,
a consultant on ways and means, rather than an initiator of activities for students.
