Hello, we are a group of students who live on the Texas Gulf Coast where the "one-eyed monster", the hurricane, sometimes visits. In case you didn't know, a hurricane is a tropical cyclone. The word hurricane comes from the Spanish word huracan meaning "great wind," or from similar words used by Caribbean Indian tribes to describe evil spirits, storm gods, and big winds. We learned this and many other things about hurricanes that we want to share with you.
