Student picture during award ceremony

In the Spring of 2000 and the Spring of 2001, two of my advanced art students won Young Artist Apprenticeship Awards, Blaffer Gallery, University of Houston, for their outstanding participation in the program. The awards included $1,000 college tuition scholarships, and $500 Texas Art Supply gift certificates.

This internship gives high school students an opportunity to work under the tutorship of local artists, and experience working with the "tools of the trade."
