Video on Maskmaking Techniques Sheet

When my students view an instructional video, they also receive a set of questions that go along with the information presented in the video. This helps my students focus on what they are watching, and it gives them an opportunity to brainstorm for ideas for their own artwork, and class discussion purposes.

  1. What materials do you need for papier mache?
  2. What do you need to tear before starting your project?
  3. How do you work layers when sculpting with papier mache?
  4. What kinds of things can you use to glue on your mask?
  5. Write down fivethings about your personality or five rituals you have in your life.
  6. For each personality trait or ritual you listed, write how you would express it visually.
  7. What things can you glue on your mask to express each personality trait or ritual?
