Hi! I am Lydia and I am a teacher at Lantrip Elementary School in Houston, Texas. I teach fourth bilingual. My favorite subjects to teach are science and math, which I try to made fun for my students. In doing so, I attend many inservic es and training to hone my abilities. I got into teaching after I had retired as an accountant from a hometown bank, therefore my interest in numbers. I returned to college to take art classes and ended up with a second degree and a second career from T exas A & M at Kingsville, Texas.
I have three grown children, Lilia, Eva and Joseph, with whom I keep in touch through the internet and that is how I got hooked into computers. I still am very scared of machines, but I try very hard to learn and practice what I have learned. I al so have the loving companionship of my faithful dog, a schnauzer, AZEL.
The way I relax is to plan an exciting trip each year to some far away place. So far I have traveled to England, Germany, France, Ireland, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Belize and Venezuela. Each year I make sure I spend some time in Mexico. Last summer my family and I spend two glorious weeks in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. This summer my daugther Lilia and I took off for two weeks and took a car trip through the northern California wine country which was lovely. We had a great time. I even rode the Jurassic Rollercoaster ride at Universial Studios.
My interests are very widespread, my main one is to continue my studies of the Mayan and Aztec ancient cultures.
