Simply defined origami is the Japanese art of paper folding to create a shape which represents an object for example bird, crane, boat, or boat.

After demonstrating with a few examples students became very interested in this form of art, and I found myself constantly cutting paper to meet the demands of my elementary students.
Our school librarian reported an increase in the students' awareness of the of art origami based on how many books were checked out of the library at one single time.
