Shari Schultz

PLATO Lab Administrator
Huntsville High School

Hello, My name is Shari Schultz (or Logan's mom). I am the Plato Lab Administrator at Huntsville High School, Huntsville, TX. The Plato Lab is a place for students to recapture credit or TAKS tutoring. So you ask why are you involved in a TeacherTech workshop?

My teaching career began in 1991 with me teaching Elementary school after graduating from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelors of Science in the College of Business (Accounting) and a teaching certification in Elementary. I enjoyed the Math part of each day and realized that was were I belonged, Teaching Math. In 1997, I started teaching Math at HHS, Huntsville, TX. In 2001 I switched to the Lab. I needed to help kids who were struggling to regain credit that they had lost. But, I don't ever want to lose the Math side of my career. Therefore, I attend workshops such as Enhancing Algebra and Geometry through Multiple Representation Models, Directed by Dr. Max Coleman of Sam Houston State University and TeacherTECH '05 sponsored by the Center for Excellence and Equity in Education (CEEE) at Rice University in Houston, Texas to be able to offer students the opportunity to experience both Math and Technology at the same time.

Outside of school: I was born in Huntsville. I graduated from Huntsville High School in 1981. My husband and I have been married 14 years in August. I am a mommy of a 2-year-old little boy. I also volunteer for the American Cancer Society. I am the Chairperson for the Walker Co Relay for Life 2006. And I love to work with kids.
