Welcome to My Website!
"He who dares to teach must never cease to learn."
Hello! Born in Chicago, Illinois, my name is Tricia Escueta, and I currently teach 9th grade Business Technology at KIPP Houston High School. I am the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Vicky Escueta, who emigrated from the Philippines to Chicago in 1971 . My father and mother are both in the engineering field.
In the 1980s, my family moved to Houston, TX, and we call it home. I have one brother, Frank Escueta Jr., who is currently in Sales for a digital security firm. We have a great big Filipino family here in Houston with other relatives living in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Tokyo, Japan.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where I graduated with a B.B.A in Finance. After college, I worked for Enron, Reliant, and Aim Investments. I was actually working the day Enron went down, and had ten minutes to clear my desk before evacuating the building.
After taking a break from corporate life, I decided to go for a complete change, and I wanted to work in a field more rewarding. As I result, I worked with high school students in Alief I.S.D. working as the Youth Coordinator for the Asian American Family Services. It was an amazing experience working with students, and that's when I started looking into teaching!
I love teaching and working with my students at KIPP Houston High School. When I’m not in my classroom, you’ll find me exercising, traveling, shopping, or eating out with friends, my fiance, and family. Oh yeah…. one last thing. Next year, I will be getting married on the beach in beautiful Mexico! My fiance, Fred Miller, and I were engaged March 10th, 2006, and are planning our destination wedding in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
