Glad you found
my site! I hope you’ll find my site informative because that’s
why it was created, especially if you are one of my students, their
parents, or a teacher.
I’m a surface chemist
(Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, 1981) and worked for Eastman Kodak
Company in Rochester, New York for 8 years.
I decided to stay home to
be a full time mom to raise 4 children for 17 years until the
youngest started high school in 2005. I also made the decision
to teach at the same high school so that we would have the same
working calendar.
I received the teaching certification
in math (8-12) through Region 4 and taught Algebra 1 pre-AP and
Geometry pre-AP at Clear Lake High School in 2005-2006 school
year.
I’m on a year sabbatical
to recover from the exhausting year of being responsible to teach
math to 141 students. I intend to spend this year learning to
become a more effective teacher. Successful development of this
web site is an example of such intention.
These pages were made through TeacherTECH,
the teacher professional development component of GirlTECH,
which is sponsored by the Center for Excellence and Equity
in Education (CEEE) with support
from the National Science Foundation
and Rice University
